COOKIE POLICY
The second section of article 22 of Law 34/2002, of July 11, on information society services and electronic commerce (hereinafter, LSSI), in relation to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of April 27, 2016, General Data Protection (hereinafter, RGPD) and Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights (hereinafter, LOPDGDD) establishes that
– Service providers may use data storage and retrieval devices on recipients' terminal equipment, provided that the recipients have given their consent after being provided with clear and complete information about their use, in particular, about the purposes of data processing, in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection regulations.
– When technically possible and effective, the recipient's consent to data processing may be facilitated by using appropriate browser or other application settings.
– The foregoing shall not prevent any technical storage or access for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network or, to the extent strictly necessary, for the provision of an information society service expressly requested by the recipient.
Recital 30 of the GDPR mentions these technologies and their impact on data protection, stating that: Natural persons can be associated with online identifiers provided by their devices, applications, tools, and protocols, such as internet protocol addresses, session identifiers in the form of cookies, or other identifiers, such as radio frequency identification tags. This can leave traces which, in particular, when combined with unique identifiers and other data received by servers, can be used to profile and identify natural persons.
This cookie policy has been revised in accordance with the new cookie usage regulations published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) on July 28, 2020, amending the Cookie Guidelines to adapt them to the Consent Guidelines amended in May 2020 by the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) (Guidelines 05/2020) on consent. Specifically, technical measures have been taken to ensure that the "continue browsing" option is not configured as an option to obtain consent, and that no "cookie walls" are in place.
In compliance with established regulations, below we provide information regarding the cookies used.
INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES
We inform you that this website you have accessed uses its own and third-party cookies to offer you a better experience and service. By browsing or using our services, you do not accept our use of cookies; rather, your consent is expressly collected, and this does not block browsing capabilities if you decline them.
Cookies used for any of the following purposes are exempt from compliance with the obligations established in article 22.2 of the LSSI:
- Allow communication only between the user's equipment and the network.
- Strictly provide a service expressly requested by the user.
WHAT IS A COOKIE
Cookies are small files that some platforms, such as websites, can install on your computer, smartphone, tablet, connected TV, etc., when you access them. Their functions can be very varied: storing your browsing preferences, collecting statistical information, enabling certain technical features, storing and retrieving information about the browsing habits or preferences of a user or their device, sometimes to the point of being able to recognize it, depending on the information they contain and the way you use your device. A cookie is stored on a computer to personalize and facilitate the user's navigation as much as possible. Cookies play a very important role in improving the experience of using the website.
In other words, a cookie is a piece of information sent by a website and stored in the user's browser so that the website can refer to the user's previous activity. A cookie does not uniquely identify an individual; it can also include a combination of computer, browser, and user.
WHAT THE WEBSITE USES COOKIES FOR
Cookies are used to differentiate users and to act differently depending on them. One use of cookies is to identify a user on a website. Users typically identify themselves by entering their credentials on a validation page; cookies allow the server to know that the user is already logged in or browsing the website, and therefore, they can be allowed to access services or perform operations that are restricted to unidentified users.
Why are they important?
- From a technical perspective, they allow websites to operate more efficiently and adapt to user preferences, such as storing the language, country's currency, or detecting the access device.
- They establish levels of protection and security that prevent or hinder cyberattacks against the website or its users.
- They allow media managers to access statistical data collected through cookies to improve the quality and experience of their services.
- They are used to optimize the advertising we show to users, offering the type of advertising that best suits their interests.
TYPES OF COOKIES
Depending on who is the entity that manages the team or domain From where the cookies are sent and the data obtained is processed, we can distinguish:
Own cookies: These are those sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: Cookies are those sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies. If cookies are served from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered first-party cookies if the third party uses them for its own purposes (for example, improving the services it provides or providing advertising services for other entities).
According to the purpose for which the data obtained through 'cookies' are processed, the website may use:
Technical cookies: These are those that allow the user to navigate through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services that exist therein, including those that the editor uses to allow the management and operation of the website and enable its functions and services.
Preference or customization cookies: These are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.
Analysis or measurement cookies: These cookies allow the website owner to monitor and analyze the behavior of users of the websites to which they are linked, including quantifying the impact of advertisements. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure website, application, or platform activity in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of user usage data.
Behavioral advertising cookies: These are those that store information about user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
According to the expiration date, the Cookies used may have the following types of expiration:
Session cookies: Cookies are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information that is only needed to provide the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and disappear at the end of the session.
Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie owner, which can range from a few minutes to several years. This website uses both temporary session cookies and permanent cookies.
In some cases, if you disable any of these cookies, you may not be able to receive our content and services correctly. In other cases, the website may continue to function. In any case, we want to inform you that the information collected by these cookies about the use of our website and the success of the advertisements displayed on it allows us to improve our services and generate revenue, which allows us to offer you many content at a lower cost.
